Senior Benefits Analyst – Westfield Center, OH
Description: Conducts research and analysis of benefit programs and advises management of methods for improvement. Involved in setting and implementing benefit strategy, serves as liaison between employees and vendors for solving benefit problems. Prepares federal filings and compliance reports.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources and five (5) years of relevant benefits experience. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills resulting in the ability to interact with all levels of management and employee population. Must have a valid driver’s license, a driving record that meets company standards, and the ability to travel as needed. Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, including demonstrated ability to analyze metrics in Excel. Trendview experience is preferred.
Job Duties (not an all inclusive list): Conducts research and analysis of benefit programs and advises management of methods for improvement. Responsible for preparation of federal filings and compliance reports, including 5500s, SAR notices, HIPPA Privacy Rule notices. Coordinates the administration of corporate benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, EAP, 401(k), life and LTD insurance for active employees and retirees. Requires maintaining working relationship with and management of vendors. Assists HR Leadership and BAC in the formation and execution of Benefits and Wellness strategies. Serves as liaison and advocate between employees/retirees and vendors for problem resolution and keeps Leader informed of issues. Includes HR Assist coordination and new hire orientation. Takes the lead on communications of benefit plans including SPDs, SMMs, Total Rewards Statements, benefit newsletters, website, training, etc. Requires excellent written and spoken presentation skills. Assists third party vendors with census data, plan design, etc. for annual renewal process, such as group health rates and contributions. Participates in RFP process and vendor selection at contract renewal. Leads annual open enrollment project. Attends Benefit Administrative Committee (BAC) meetings and presents issues as requested. Implements changes to benefit plans as directed and voted by BAC. Works with internal and external auditors to complete annual benefit audit.
